Palpa Hill Station: An ancient hill town Tansen-1350 meters above sea level, is the administrative headquarters of Palpa district and lies in Lumbini zone of Nepal. It is a typical Nepali town with numerous fairs, festivals, religious and cultural events.
Tansen is an historic hill station there used to stay Badahakim (biggest boss) in Rana era. The place is famous for Newari architecture which was strongly influenced by migrants from the Kathmandu valley. The place is very accessible as you can get there from Pokhara and Butwal easily. The Buddha birth Place Lumbini is also close from Palpa.
Palpa Hill Station offers an opportunity to experience actual Nepali culture and nature. Nearby, the hill of Shrinagar offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Lamjung, and Ganesh Himal. Situated at 1,350 meters the Palpa experience a pleasant climate though out the year. Amar Narayan Temple, Amargunj Ganesh temple, Tundikhel, Baggi Dhoka and Sital Pati are some of the musi-see places in the area. This mountain hub is inhabited mainly by the Magars and Newars.
