Drive to Godavari & hike
Drive to Godavari & hike uphill to Phulchoki for about 4 hrs. Admire the view from the top then hike/descend down & drive back to Kathmandu.
Description
Phulchowki is the highest of the mountains which encircles the Kathmandu Valley. It is 2760m high. It is situated above Godavari village which is 1525m high. This sub-tropical forest is richest for birds, over 570 species of flowering plants and wildlife in the valley. It is also the most convenient place to see those birds who are rare in Nepal. Pulchowki and Godavari forest are famous internationally for the richness of flaura and fauna but especially butterflies and birds. Phulchowki is also a one of the last surviving cloud forest in Central Nepal. This mountain is famous for the snowfall which sometimes occurs in January or February, which is quite rare in Kathmandu Valley.
